Dr. Thomas Girvan, a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a Fellow of the Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, is currently in his 52nd year of teaching prosthodontic principles in San Antonio, Texas.
He received his dental degree from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry and his prosthodontic training from Wilford USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Girvan served in the USAF for 30 years, the University of Texas Health Sciences Center School of Dentistry for 14 years, and recently retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after serving 21+ years.
Tom was awarded the 2021Major General (retired) Bill B. Lefler Federal Services Award by the American College of Prosthodontists and since retiring from Federal Service, Tom has joined AvaDent Digital Dental Solutions part time as Chief Education Officer to spread the word about digital dentures.
