Dr. Praveen Parachuru received his Certificate in the specialty of Periodontics from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis. He received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, India and later his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) from TNMGR Medical University, India both with distinction. He later pursued his PhD in the Immunology of Periodontal Disease from the University of Otago, New Zealand. Dr. Parachuru has received multiple awards and research grants throughout his 15-year career. His main research interest is in the “Immunopathology of Periodontal Disease.” His work has been presented at various international conferences and he has authored many articles that were published in many prominent peer-reviewed scientific journals. He was a three-time finalist to the prestigious ‘American Academy of Periodontology Foundation Educator scholarship,” a national award from 2017-2019. Dr. Parachuru is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology and other organizations like the International Association of Dental Research and International Association of Oral Pathologists.
