Michael Silva, D.D.S.

Dr. Michael Silva was born and raised in San Diego, California, to a commercial tuna fishing family. He graduated from San Diego Christian College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Dr. Silva later attended the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California on a U.S. Army scholarship where he obtained his dental degree. After dental school, Dr. Silva worked as General Dentist in the Army at a base in New York and deployed to Africa and the Middle East.

He always had a passion for children and knew he wanted to pursue a career working with them. On a U.S. Army scholarship, he pursued a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry at Texas A&M (Baylor) College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, graduating in 2018. He passed his written specialty boards that same year and completed his oral board certification in 2019 becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry 2019. Dr. Silva’s final Army duty station was in the Southern California desert and he transitioned to private practice in El Paso after leaving the military in 2020.

Dr. Silva is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He also is a faculty member and part of the admissions committee at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine in El Paso. When not at the office Dr. Silva enjoys all the outdoor activities El Paso has to offer, reading, baking, watching movies, and exploring West Texas and the surrounding regions. He loves the personal interaction with every child and family while educating them on the importance of oral health.
